Affiliate Programme Terms

Thank you for wanting to recommend us. These are the rules of our affiliate programme. They are short and we have kept them plain. They are between you and My Indie Author Site (“MIAS”, “we”, “us”), operated by Mansfield Digital.
1. Joining
Anyone can apply. We review applications and we may decline one without giving a reason. We will not approve an account that is set up to look like it belongs to us.
2. What you earn
- 20% of the build fee when someone buys a plan through your link.
- 20% of their plan payments for the first 12 months. After twelve months the recurring commission ends.
- Your link is remembered for 30 days after someone clicks it. If they buy within that window, you are credited.
3. When you get paid
- A commission is approved once the customer’s payment has cleared and the window for a refund or chargeback has passed.
- We pay out once your approved balance reaches $25.
- Payment goes to the details on your affiliate account. Keeping them correct is your job.
4. You must tell people
This is not our preference, it is the law. The US Federal Trade Commission requires you to tell people when you earn money from a recommendation.
Every time you share a link, say plainly that it is an affiliate link and that you may earn a commission. Something as simple as “this is an affiliate link and I earn a commission if you sign up” is enough. It has to be visible without anyone having to click “more”.
If you do not disclose, we will close your account and withhold unpaid commissions. It is our reputation on the line as much as yours.
5. What you must not do
- Do not refer yourself. Buying through your own link, or through someone else’s account for your benefit, voids the commission.
- Do not bid on our brand name in paid search, including “My Indie Author Site”, “MIAS”, and misspellings of them.
- Do not send unsolicited bulk email, and do not drop your link into forums or comment sections where you are not welcome.
- Do not claim to be us, or set up a site or account that could be mistaken for ours.
- Do not offer cashback, rebates or coupons that we have not published.
- Do not promise things we do not do. If you tell someone their plan includes email marketing, we have to either honour it or call you a liar. Neither is good. Our plan pages say exactly what is included.
- Do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you personally, unless we have said you may.
6. Refunds and chargebacks
If a customer you referred gets a refund or charges back, the commission is reversed. If it has already been paid, we deduct it from your next payment.
7. Ending it
Either of us can leave at any time, for any reason. If you leave, or we close your account, commissions already properly earned and approved are still paid. If the account was closed for breaking these rules, they are not.
8. Changes
We may change these terms, including commission rates. We will email you before a change takes effect. Changes are not applied backwards to commissions you have already earned.
9. You are not our employee
You are an independent participant in a referral programme. You are not our employee, partner, or agent, and you cannot enter into anything on our behalf. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States.
